Drive time from Brisbane is typically about 1.5–2+ hours each way via the Bruce Highway and Sunshine Motorway in normal traffic (~160 km to Noosa Heads) — more on Friday afternoons, school holidays and wet days. That is a published planning band, not a clocked field diary. People who should not attempt a Brisbane day trip: anyone leaving after a late morning on a peak Saturday and still hoping for Hell’s Gates, a full Alexandria Bay link, Emu Mountain and dinner back in the CBD.

Most visitors self-drive from Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast via the Bruce Highway and Sunshine Motorway to Noosa Heads (~160 km from Brisbane). Allow about 1.5–2+ hours in normal conditions — more with holiday traffic. From Hastings Street you can walk ~1 km on the seaside boardwalk to Park Road day-use when parking is full.

Fuel, food, medical — last town before Park Road

Park Road day-use and Hell’s Gates lookouts are not a service centre. Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunshine Beach, Peregian and Coolum are. This is orientation, not a live directory — hours change. Fill fuel, water and snacks before you hunt for a headland bay. No invented prices here.

Toilets and snacks cluster at Park Road day-use and along Hastings Street / Noosa Heads — use them before a Hell’s Gates push. Do not count on a kiosk at every bay. Nap windows and shade (Palm Grove) beat a second long coastal add-on.

Early starts

Last easy fuel, bakery and coffee sit in Noosa Heads / Noosaville (and Sunshine Beach for southern approaches) — not on the unfenced cliffs. Fill bottles and tanks before the 4-hour parking clock starts.
